![]() The wraith cooler works but it is not great at keeping the Ryzen 6 very cool - which is in turn causing the case fans to run at higher RPMs. enhanced circuit design ensures even high-end CPU to run in full speed with MSI motherboards. Prior to setting a fan curve in BIOS they where all ramping up to about 1500rpms. With a PWM-controlled fan, the board powers it with a steady 12V, and the fan speed is controlled through the fourth pin via a PWM signal. All of my case fans are 4pins, specifially these fans and am having a hard time getting their speed under control. With a DC-controlled fan, the fan speed is regulated by the board powering it with lower or higher voltages (say, between 3V and 12V) instead of steady 12V. Does that mean that the cpu cooler fan will ramp up/down to match the 500-1000 rpm based on the temp when it is between 20 and 40 C? I want to get the fan curves stabilized and working before I decide if I need to get better fans. B450 Tomahawk and fans Recently upgraded from a Gigabyte b350 to b450 Tomahawk. then click the cog (settings icon) to bring upthe fan curve graph you then mess with the fan curve so its the way you want it. So if I have 20 C for say 500 RPM and another at 40C for 1000 rpm. Total Fan Control allows you check your primary system characteristics. The 3 other fans are not PWN so I have to control them via temp versus volt. MSI motherboards let you manage speeds and temperatures for all your system and CPU fans. ![]() It's just quite clunky to control fans from there (mouse moves about 20 speed because drivers don't boot). Yeah, in BIOS there is option to choose fan settings based on headers. The CPU cooler is a PWM so I can do temp versus RPM. If you enter the BIOS for your motherboard, there may be a section to choose fan settings based on which header it is plugged into. I am using the MSI b450 Tomahawk Max motherboard and I have looked at the fan controls there but they really aren't making sense to me.Īre there any good videos describing fan curve setups? I have watched one but they really didn't explain the relationship to temp versus fan speed. THey are ramping up/down alot even under not very heavy loads. I bought the board a month ago and was using dragon center to control the fans which had some glitches here and there but was working for controlling my case and cpu fans. I have a lot of noise from the fans in my case. Hi, I have b450 tomahawk and am using 2 stock NZXT 120mm, 1 Phanteks 140mm, and the stock and wraith stealth cooler.
